Your 4-step guide to ranking #1 on Google
Maui SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is ABSOLUTELY critical if you want your business to reach full potential. The reason why SEO is so important to Maui businesses is that it is the best way to get in touch with clients before they set foot on the island. We’ve been helping Maui clients do this since 1996 when we started construction on one of the islands original activity companies, TomBarefoot.com. Back then we were able to capture high traffic keywords like “Maui Luau” and “Maui Helicopter” by adding content that was HEAVILY stuffed with the target keywords. These days SEO is not as cut and dry as it once was which is why so many of our clients have had so much trouble with it in the past. Fortunately, we are here to help local businesses who are trying to compete with Maui SEO.
How can I dominate Maui SEO?
While SEO is something that is quite complicated, the concepts behind the optimization techniques can be simplified for the sake of explanation. Essentially, if you want to maximize the SEO of your Maui website you will want to focus on the following key factors: on page SEO, off page SEO, social signals, and user metrics.
Maui SEO Domination, Step 1 (On-Page SEO)
On page SEO is also referred to by many as “Traditional SEO”. On-page SEO focuses on what is actually on the page. The process of making sure your code is formatted properly, the target keyword exists on the page in the content, in the page headers, in the picture’s alt tags etc. For more information about the nitty gritty here’s a great Backlinko.com article about On Page SEO that goes into a great amount of detail. This form of optimization is the original kind of SEO, while it is still a requirement for a well-optimized site, there are so many other factors besides on-page SEO that is also in play these days that you must make sure you do not focus on your on-page SEO alone. A site that only has been optimized for on-page SEO will not be able to compete based without also being optimized for the other key factors.
Maui SEO Domination, Step 2 (Off-Site SEO)
Google wants to see that you are telling it has the information the best information pertaining to the target keyword on your site. However, Google also wants to see that other places on the internet are also telling Google that your site is the most relevant. The way that they are able to do this using AI is by studying the links from other sites that are pointing to your site. Do other sites link to your site use anchor text on the links that contain the target keyword phrase? For instance, if you are targeting the keyword “Maui SEO” and there are links all over the internet that are pointing to your page using the link text “Maui SEO” this will help Google to identify your site as the most relevant page that is related to the search term. If the rest of the internet is saying that this is the resource, it probably is. This principle is why getting good backlinks to your site is so important to the overall search engine optimization of the site. Here’s a great article by Moz.com about Off-Site SEO.
Maui SEO Domination, Step 3 (Social Signals)
Social signals are similar to off page SEO except for it is focused specifically on social networks. Essentially, Google feels that if people are talking about, linking to or writing positive reviews about a website there is a high probability that it is a better site than a similar page that is not being talked about or referenced on social media. These social signals are something that you will want to pay attention to if you are serious about Maui SEO. In order to optimize for social signals, you should make sure your business is doing everything it can to engage with customers using social media. Even something simple, like sending out an email to ask your existing customers to review your products can have substantial effects on SEO because of the positive social signals that can be generated from such activities. There has been some controversy regarding the effect of Social Signals but there have been some great studies on the effects of social signals on rankings of web pages. Cognitive SEO did a great study on the effects of Social Signals if you want more information. You can also check out this article we wrote about 5 Social Media Management Strategies That Work.

It is critical to the success of your Maui SEO projects that you do everything you can to keep your user metrics as favorable as possible.
